With the skits
being done with professionals that are trained in the
art of improvisation, the results can be hilarious.
This is high wire comedy without a net. It is an unscripted,
uncensored romp.
Improvisation has to be one of the toughest forms of
comedy--demanding the performer be witty and clever,
on the spot, based on suggestions from the audience.
It can be very taxing and exhausting for the actor to
put forth that much energy and concentration on every
skit. The Second City has made this type of comedy into
an art form, and the performers are all exceedingly
keen and sharp. They work through each of the scenarios
with an amazing ease.
The show that inspired Saturday Night Live and turned
improvisation into a true art form plays twice nightly
at the Flamingo. The Second City started as a tiny theater
in Chicago and grew into the top name in live, comedic
entertainment. Having toured the world over, this group
of talented performers now calls Las Vegas home. Thanks
to its intimate seating, Bugsy’s Celebrity Theatre
is the perfect venue for the troupe’s insightful,
intelligent humor!
